Senior Backend Engineer

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Bold, you will build and scale the data backbone of our endpoint security solution, processing high-volume data in real time to serve large enterprise customers. You will work at the intersection of stream processing, modern databases, and real-time analytics, designing systems that are fast, reliable, and built to scale.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop high-throughput event processing pipelines using Kafka and stream processing frameworks
• Optimize and maintain a modern database stack leveraging PostgreSQL and ClickHouse to support real-time analytics at enterprise scale
• Build and maintain analytics capabilities that deliver meaningful insights to large enterprise customers
• Take end-to-end ownership across the full stack — from UI components to backend services to infrastructure as code
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product and security requirements into scalable, maintainable systems
• Continuously monitor, profile, and improve system performance and reliability

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of backend development experience, with a strong emphasis on distributed systems and data-intensive applications
• Deep understanding of PostgreSQL and experience optimizing databases for performance and scale
• Experience with monitoring customer-facing production systems.
• Hands-on experience with stream processing, ideally with Kafka
• Familiarity with ClickHouse or similar columnar databases is a strong advantage
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and cloud environments is an advantage
• Experience in UI development is a plus
• Strong ownership, collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across disciplines
